Support to Former Royal Observer Corps Members:

Your Fund made 25 awards to 13 different applicants that benefitted 17 people who were identified as former Royal Observer Corps members. The total value of all awards came to £19,200 and covered the following services:

  • Telephone Friendship Groups
  • Benefits Advocacy advice
  • Listening and Counselling Service
  • Community Engagement Worker support
  • Immediate Financial Assistance
  • Independent Living and Mobility support

These figures represent 2024 year to date and may increase before the end of the year. Again, the message that your Fund that I will keep repeating is that we know that there are more former Royal Observer Corps members that would benefit from support, but we need your help to reach them and raise awareness that your Fund is there to offer emotional, financial and practical support to those in need.

It is good to see that ROCA members have been active across the UK, attending events and raising awareness. To assist further with the promotion of your Fund’s services, a number of bespoke pull-up banners have been produced to specifically highlight the connection between your Fund and former Royal Observer Corps members – so look out for these at forthcoming events.
