Great Bedwyn Post
AWARD OF THE PRESIDENT’S CERTIFICATE OF COMMENDATION
TO GARY AND JUNE CROOK
Gary and June have for a number of years worked tirelessly to restore and preserve Great Bedwyn Post. Their attention to detail captures the living history of those who served in the Royal Observer Corps to ensure the Great Bedwyn underground Post is not forgotten.
Between them they have given many hours of voluntary commitment to the Association at both National and local Heritage displays.
Since 2006, due to the dedication of Gary and June they have enabled the Cold War history of the Post and other specific milestones in our history to be remembered and commemorated every year by holding an annual Barbeque at the site of the Post allowing many to experience what life underground would have been like. Their fundraising efforts extend beyond the Post and the Association to help the wider veteran community.
In recognition of their standard of care with which the history, artefacts and story of Great Bedwyn Post is told they are awarded the President’s Certificate of Commendation.
