Service of Commemoration of the Formation of the Royal Air Force
St Clement Danes Church 13 April 2025
The RAF Annual Service of Commemoration of the Formation Service was held at St Clement Danes Church in London and was attended by 10 members of ROCA. The theme of the service this year was 'The End of Hostilities'.
The National Standard was carried by Southern Area Rep and 12 Group member Alan Lawley. Other ROCA members were Jenny Morris, Chris and Trish Shire (12 Group), Tony Mills (7 Group & Midland Area Rep), Tracy Malcolm and Colin Woods (31 Group), Colin carried the 31 Group Standard, Bruce Williams (6 Group), Terry and Jackie Giles (1 Group), Jackie carried the 1 Group Standard.
The service was followed by a reception in the Royal Courts of Justice where we met former Chief of the Air Staff Sir Michael Wigston who was once an observer (1985-86) in North Wales Group (17 post) before he joined the RAF.
